DIANE CHANTLER ROTARY INTERNATIONAL DISTRICT 6330 GOVERNOR 2016-17
Diane, now semi-retired, spent her 36 year career in Business, Banking, Finance, and HR working in both the private and corporate sectors.
She was asked to join the Rotary Club of Bracebridge and has been a proud Rotarian since 1998. Diane was a Charter Member of the Rotary Club of Bracebridge-Muskoka Lakes, and Club President in 2002 - 2003. She was a District 7010 AG, Polio Plus District 7010 Chairperson, and assisted Clubs in future planning as part of the Visioning Team. In 2002 Diane spearheaded her Club's HOPE Bear Campaign, showcased in the Rotarian and the Century of Service, in support of Polio eradication, and was awarded the Rotary District Foundation Award, for the campaign, in 2003. Diane was the recipient of the Rotary Foundation Regional Service Award for a Polio-free world, in 2010, from Rotary International. She is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow, a Benefactor, and a member of the Bequest Society.
Diane travelled to Ecuador, in 2009, with a group of Rotarians to deliver 300 wheelchairs to people in need. It was an unbelievable moment in her life to experience an international project and to see the people whose lives were touched.
In 2011 Diane, and her husband Bill, moved to St. Thomas, Ontario when her husband retired. The Rotary Club of St. Thomas welcomed her, and she became the AG for Area 4 in District 6330. In 2013 she chaired an initiative to Charter a new Club in St. Thomas. The St. Thomas Railway City Rotary Club was Chartered on May 30, 2014, where Diane served as the Charter President. She continues to call St. Thomas Railway City her home club, and welcomes all Rotarians for Fun & Fellowship.
